About the workshop

This virtual workshop is a continuation of the NOAA series of workshops on “Leveraging AI in Environmental Sciences.” The third event continues the successes of previous workshops and encourages participation by scientists, program managers, and leaders from the public, academic and private sectors who work in AI and environmental sciences. The theme for this year’s workshop is “Transforming Weather, Climate Services, and Blue Economy with Artificial Intelligence.” This year’s workshop is led by the NOAA Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI), a program in the formulation stage.

Hi all! I am a product quality scientist with the GOES-R Program's Product Readiness and Operations team. I have been excited to lead the planning of the GOES-R DataJam! Within the GOES-R Program I initially focused on updating the science product testing plans for the GOES-T and GOES-U satellites. Now that GOES-T has launched and become GOES-18, and GOES-U will be launched soon, my focus has been on engaging in product validation reviews to ensure the on-orbit products meet product maturity levels as defined by the mission requirements. I additionally create python scripts to automate previously manual tasks or to enhance existing tools. I love using Earth science data to solve problems, and have prior experience developing the land and vegetation product for the ICESat-2 satellite mission and utilizing data from MODIS, VIIRS, AIRS, and GRACE satellite instruments in research projects.
